Claire Pringle - Editor Claire subsequently secured a place on a Film degree course at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design. It was here that she began to focus on postproduction and developed an interest in editing both film and video. Working on projects that were both part of and independent of the college course enabled Claire to gain basic editing skills. She was able to experience a wide range of editing techniques and equipment including cutting with 16mm film on a Steenbeck and working with compositing effects on DS Softimage. After graduating, Claire broadened her experience working for Travel TV, a small production company at Teddington Studios. Here Claire learned more about the technical side of postproduction and was given the chance to work as an assistant to several freelance editors. Next Claire worked as an assistant to a commercials editor at the OBE Partnership in Soho. OBE is a well-respected editing company responsible for feature films such as 'Human Traffic' and 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart', but concentrating primarily on commercials and pop promos. In January 2003 Claire began a two-year MA editing course at the National Film and Television School. |
