Craig Griffith - Writer/Director He was given his first Super 8 camera for his eleventh birthday and set about making "film stars" of all his family and friends. He joined the Orbit Youth Theatre Company gaining his first experience of acting, writing, directing and every other aspect of the theatre until he left at sixteen. In 1989 he got a job as Director of Photography for an independent production company called White Elephant. Here he worked on half-hour adaptations of the plays of William Shakespeare. The first was Macbeth and true to the history of the "Scottish play" the company went bankrupt shortly after it's completion. In 1992 he left Cardiff and in 1995 enrolled at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design. After three years he left SIAD with a BA Hon's Film Degree. Next up was the tried and tested route of the Runner. After much tea making and lots of driving he soon progressed to Production Assistant. Finally, he secured a position at Lee Lighting running the Kino-Flo department. Although spending a lot of time at Shepperton and Pinewood Studios watching the big boys his time there made him more determined to direct. Whilst on his adventures in the screen trade he has continued to hone his skills as a director, making several short films, music promos and test commercials. He has funded these films himself. In 2000 Craig signed to London Management where he developed several scripts. Craig has since left London Management and signed to Renting Eyeballs where he is a music video director with promo's aired on MTV. In addition Craig is also developing a three-part TV drama entitled HOME SWEET HOME in collaboration with Corkscrew Production and his second feature script, STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW, a comedy drama for Paper Chase Films. |
