Michael Langridge Since then he has appeared in over one hundred plays, playing such diverse parts as Faust, Oedipus, Petruchio in The Taming Of The Shrew, Big Daddy in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Joe Keller in All My Sons, Francis Hardy in Brian Friel's Faith Healer, Hans Kohlhaas in the James Saunders play of the same name, Iago in Othello, Eddie Carbone in View From The Bridge, Danforth in The Crucible, Captain Shotover in Heatrbreak House, Walter Burns in The Front Page, Gerardo in Death And The Maiden, Sherlock Holmes in The Real Death Of Sherlock Holmes and General St Pe in The Waltz Of The Toreadors. He has appeared many times on the Edinburgh Fringe and ran The Carlton Studios Venue. He co-wrote and acted in the three "Coarse Acting Show" productions, which were performed in Edinburgh and as part of "The Lunatic Fringe" at London's Shaftesbury Theatre in the early eighties. These plays were subsequently published by Samuel French and have now been performed all over the world. Mike has worked with many notable Directors such as, Alan Clarke, Tom Stoppard, Ken Ives, Robin Duval, Carol Wiseman, Miles Brown, George Mulley, Mike Custance and Cecil Hayter. In addition to acting Michael has also directed, most recently, Privates On Parade, Noises Off, Lady Betty, The Crucible, Pack Of Lies and The Hired Man. At time of filming Mike directed the two-part epic stage production of David Edgar's adaptation of The Life And Adventures Of Nicholas Nickleby, which opened in May 2003. |
