NEWS (13th August 2007)
Through the Looking Glass has been nominated for Best Feature Film at this year's AMRITSA Everglades International Film Festival in South Africa.

The film will be screened on Saturday September 29th 2007 and the Awards ceremony will follow in the evening.

For more info please visit www.amritsa.com/ev1.htm

The film's director Craig Griffith said, "This is incredibly exciting. The EIFF is the second festival to screen the film and to be nominated for an award is fantastic. It is even more exciting that the film has been nominated for Best Feature. Horror films are regarded as genre films and therefore a niche market, which traditionally doesn't do well come the awards season. To be nominated for Best Feature is a great achievement by everyone who worked on the film. I also think it shows great vision by the EIFF to include a film such as this."

NEWS (8th June 2007)
THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS has won the award for Best Horror at the Swansea Bay Film Festival.

The film's first public screening took place at The Dylan Thomas Centre on Friday June 8th on the last day of the festival. The screening was introduced by the film's writer/director Craig Griffith followed by a Q&A session at the end.

"The screening went very well" according to Craig. "There were a few screams and a couple of "don't do that/don't go down there" which as a filmmaker is great to hear. The last thing you want is to make a scary film where the audience doesn't scream. It was fantastic and extremely gratifying to see that the film works and people were scared."

The screening was followed by a gala awards dinner and ceremony where Craig was presented with the award.

Craig said "It is an absolute honour that we have won in Wales and I would like to thank everyone at the festival for all their support.

Director Craig Griffith said "It is fantastic that the first public screening of the film will be in Wales and even better now that it is up for the Best Horror award. It shows that Wales is now a hot bed for genre story telling".

He is hard at work developing his 2nd feature an urban twist on the Vampire story, which he describes as The French Connection with vampires. He is in talks with The Welsh Film Agency who are helping him develop the film.

NEWS (14th November 2006)
We are pleased to announce that THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS is finally finished.

A cast and crew screening was held on 31st October, which was very successful with over 100 people in attendance. The Halloween screening was significant as it was 5 years to the day that Director Craig Griffith and DOP Chris Britton sat down in a coffee shop hatching their plan to make a scary movie.

It was a nerve-wracking experience for everyone involved and director Craig Griffith was terrified at having to give a speech before the film. He said, "I had written a bit of an Oscar speech to be honest but once I stood up in front of everyone the nerves kicked in and I forgot it all. This is the first time that the film has been seen by an audience and was a real test but everything went well and the film did its job of scaring the pants off of everyone. All of the feedback was really positive. It's good to know that the film works in front of an audience".

There were drinks at the bar afterwards and everyone partied late into the night. It was a great occasion with people travelling from all over to be there. For most of the crew it was the first time that they had all met.

Some pictures from the eveing can be seen here.

The film has been accepted into its first festival, The Swansea Bay Film Festival in June 2007. Craig said "As a Welsh born film maker it's going to be great to show the film first in Wales. It's a real honour to be able to scare the living daylights out of a Welsh audience first". NEWS (July 2006)
The final sound mix is now drawing to a close and after 4 long years the film is almost finished. The sound mix has seen Re-recording Mixer Thomas Joyce holed up for the past three months working solidly.

Tom's commitment has been inspirational for Director Craig especially given how important the overall sound is to the film. Craig said, "Sound is everything to the film. Without good sound the film wouldn't have the emotional impact it has and wouldn't be anywhere near as scary. Tom has done a fantastic job bringing the film to life and creating a soundtrack based in reality, which works on so many dynamic levels. It really gets in your head and from my point of view absolutely underpins the film with a sense of believability. This really helps to sell the horror when it happens. Tom has without a doubt brought a huge amount to the film."

A cast and crew screening is being arranged for sometime in the next month and following that any final tweaks will see the film completed and ready for distribution by the end of July. "However" Craig laughed, "given the history of this film and the influence of the ghosts in the machine you never know."

Although Craig is looking forward to a few days off he has already written the first draft of his planned second feature, which he has now turned over to scriptwriter John Craig Howells who is re-writing at the moment. Although sticking with the horror genre Craig promises a very different feel for the next film. Once the script is complete and both are happy with it then Craig will begin the long, hard search for funding.

NEWS (Sept 2005)
The first pass on the grade is now complete and a second will begin directly after a screening with Chris, Craig and Claire determines what still needs to be done.

NEWS (August 2005)
Sound supervisor Justin Bryant has joined the postproduction crew. Justin's initial job will be to assess the on-set dialogue to see what needs to be replaced. He will then organise ADR sessions to re-record any lines that need to be done.

NEWS (May 2005)
We would like to welcome Chris Hopkins to the postproduction crew. Chris Hopkins will be taking care of all the visuals for final delivery.

His initial task was to transfer and conform all of the shots from Claire's Avid system across to his Final Cut Pro system. This was achieved by Claire converting every shot into uncompressed Quicktimes. These were then put onto a hard drive and given to Chris who then pulled the shots into Final Cut.

Here the film was reconstructed on a time line and cross checked with Claire's version until both Chris and Claire were happy that everything was the same. Once the conform is locked Chris and Director Craig will spend the summer months grading all 2000 shots from beginning to end.

NEWS (April 2005)
There have been several test screenings of the film since January 2005 to see how it is working. The screenings have been very useful and have been overwhelmingly positive. As a result of these screenings we have now locked the picture edit and can now beginning the long process of grading and sound.

NEWS (October 26th 2004)
We are pleased to announce that as of 26th October 2004, US distributor WOOD ENTERTAINMENT will represent THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. For further information check back here or log onto www.woodentertainment.net

Publicity and marketing concepts are now being put together as the film reaches it's last stages of postproduction with the aim to complete by Spring 2005.

Writer/Director Craig Griffith said, "It has been almost three years to the day that Chris (DOP) and myself sat down in a coffee shop on Halloween day, 2001 and hatched a plan to make the scariest movie that we could. It has been an incredible journey of hard work, long hours, self-discoveries, highs, lows, blood, sweat, tears and many, many very scary moments (especially filming in that house). Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel and it's really starting to come together. Everyone involved has put in an incredible amount of commitment and hard work, often under extremely difficult circumstances but have done an amazing job." He also added that he "was really pleased to have WOOD ENTERTAINMENT onboard and looked forward to a fruitful relationship with them."

Finally there will be one last round of additional shooting late November with three small new scenes to be shot. Griffith says and we quote "Every time that I think that it's finished, more ideas just pop in there and I can't help myself, I have to shoot them. The scarier I can make it the better." He has promised all involved that this will definitely be the last bout of filming.

NEWS (19th May 2003)
We are pleased to announce that we will be shooting additional scenes for the film down at Compton House from Friday 23rd May until 26th May 2003. There was some doubt as to whether we would be able to get back in to the house as it has recently been sold but we have now received clearance to go back in. Wish us luck with the ghosts.

In addition we now have a first cut of the film running just under an hour and a half in length. With the additional scenes the film should clock in at around 100 mins. The first cut is still very much a work in progress but it is clear at this stage that the film is working.

Finally we are pleased to welcome a new Executive Producer to the film, Mark Stevenson. Mark became involved in the film after Craig directed a music promo for the band 'Clear' back in March.

NEWS (28th May 2002) - SHOOT UPDATE
Principle photography on THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS has now finished. The film was completed on Wednesday 22nd of May 2002. The remainder of the shoot went well and the film has wrapped ahead of schedule without any of the hitches experienced on our first ten days of shooting at Compton House. Although still eerie, the house has had a calm atmosphere this time around and apart from the odd disturbance here and there things have progressed smoothly.

Several key scenes have already being cut together by the film's editor, Claire Pringle at OBE in London. Claire will continue to cut throughout June and July and a first cut is expected sometime towards the beginning of August. In the meantime the producers are now in the process of securing completion monies and distribution for the film, details of which will be announced nearer the time.

We would like to welcome producer Ben Lock to the film. Ben has recently been to the Cannes film festival promoting the film along with another script written by Craig entitled STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW.

Finally we would like to thank the many thousands of you who tuned into the live broadcast of the last few days of filming at Compton House. As you will know this was the first time that such a webcast has been attempted and it is thanks to you that it has been such a success. Indeed we had viewers from all over the world logged onto the broadcast at various times some even phoning members of the cast live on set. As always your support has been overwhelming and we are glad that you all enjoyed the show. An archive of the best moments of the webcast will be available here soon so please feel free to check back in the near future.

NEWS (16th April 2002) - SHOOT UPDATE
Filming has resumed on THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS now that everything seems to be back to normal in the house. The spiritualist says that we should be fine to continue now that his work is finished. Only time will tell if we can believe him or not. I for one couldn't wait to get back into the house so that we can carry on where we left off. Although inconvenient, the delay has not pushed the shooting schedule back too far. Even though we have had to stop for longer than originally intended, things are now progressing well and all being well we should finish sometime around mid-June. We will then commence the long process of postproduction.

Once again I would like to thank you all for the many e-mails I have received in support of the film. The response to the trailer has been particularly encouraging. Many Thanks.

Finally, we are pleased to welcome our new Executive Producer Mike Pringle to the film.

NEWS (28th February 2002) - SHOOT UPDATE
Filming on the psychological thriller THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, has been forced to terminate due to mysterious circumstances. We hope to be able to resume shooting once again in about 3 weeks.

In the interim, there will soon be some information detailing our experiences here. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many thousands of you out there who have been supporting us with your E-mails. I must apologise again for our lack of correspondence since we began principal photography in February.

As I have imparted to some of you, filming in a house that goes back a thousand years (and is listed in the doomsday book) seemed the perfect place to make this movie, but now I'm not so sure.

If you would like to Email us you can reach us on craig@whatsyourreflection.com.

I can't guarantee at this point that I'll be able to get back to you straight away - things are a little weird right now and I've got to focus on looking out for our fantastic crew...most of who have stayed with us until now.
